And he took them in his arms and began blessing them, laying his hands on them. (Mark 10:16)
This past Sunday, three families from our congregation dedicated their babies to God.
Baby dedication at BCBC is a public commitment by parents to raise their children in a Christ-centered home.
Parents and grandparents have the greatest spiritual influence in a child’s life. And home is the primary place where faith is nurtured. “Research shows that there is a connection between teens’ and parents’ religious beliefs and participation, and lower levels of risk-taking behaviors among adolescents,” says Dr. Kristin Moore, president and senior scholar at Child Trends. These lessons are learned early.
We are proud of our young families at BCBC. They are the energy of our growth and hope for the future. We are inspired as they lead and participate as elders, in worship, in early child education, during Sunday school, and in missions and outreach .
If you’re looking for family-centered worship where young families take an active role leading our church, check out Bent Creek Baptist Church. Sunday school starts at 9:30 am every Sunday. Church services start at 11 am.
