Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. (Psalm 127:3)
It’s world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love to needy children around the world.
Since 1993, this Samaritan’s Purse project has collected and delivered more than 113 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 100 countries.
Shoebox gifts are collected in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Finland, Germany, Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom. More than 500,000 volunteers worldwide, including more than 100,000 volunteers the United States, are involved in the program.
Bent Creek Baptist enthusiastically supports Operation Shoebox. National Collection Week starts November 17th, with Monday the 24th being the final day to deliver boxes to the church. A volunteer from the church will then see that the boxes are sent to the appropriate distribution center for shipping around the world.
