…open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. (Acts 26:18)
Actress Julianne Moore says she does not believe in God. Rather, she chooses to believe that people create their own lives.
Can we say non sequitur?
Let’s pray for Ms. Moore and all those who are lost, confused, and ignorant of the freedoms enjoyed by Christians in their lives each day.
First, let’s ask God to reveal to her his overwhelmingly deep and unconditional love.
We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
Second, ask God to open Julianne’s eyes so she can see the Light.
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Finally, ask God to free Julianne from the bondage that keeps her from choosing him.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
For Ms. Moore (and for all those whose path through this life has not yet led them to our Savior), “praying for these three things is appropriate,” says Ginny Jaques, writing on GospelBlog, because it doesn’t infringe on their freedom to choose.
