Jesus answered, “…whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13)
We don’t know her name or age. But her conversation with the Lord is his longest one-on-one chat recorded in Scripture.
It was noon on a hot day. Jesus was tired from traveling and rested at Jacob’s well outside the town of Sychar, a town in Samaria. There, while waiting for his disciples to go into town for food, he met a woman carrying a clay jar.
Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (John 4:7)
